Prince William and Kate Middleton have announced a "very exciting" new project focused on mental health, set to launch later this year.
Known advocates for mental health, the Prince and Princess of Wales have consistently supported initiatives to improve mental well-being. Their latest endeavour, personally funded, aims to enhance mental health outcomes in rural communities, according to Hello! magazine.
Prince William emphasised the importance of addressing mental health: "It’s time that everyone speaks up and really feels very normal about mental health, it’s the same as physical health."
This announcement coincides with recent financial disclosures revealing Prince William earned over £23 million in 2023 through the Duchy of Cornwall. The Duchy, established in 1337 by King Edward III, funds the official, charitable, and personal lives of the royal family.
Their commitment to mental health includes the Heads Together campaign launched in 2016 to combat stigma and encourage open discussions. In 2020, the 'Heads Up' campaign used football to promote mental health awareness. Princess Kate has also championed early childhood development, highlighting its critical role in lifelong mental health.
