ISLAMABAD:

The Senate Standing Committee on Petroleum on Tuesday deliberated on the "Pakistan Minerals Regulatory Authority Bill, 2024."

The meeting, chaired by Senator Umer Farooq, was informed that the primary objective of the bill is to create cohesion between the federal and provincial governments to fully utilize and transform the potential of the minerals sector into a value-added commodity for the national economy.

Senator Abdul Qadir noted that despite the country's vast mineral reserves, a lack of coordination between federal and provincial governments hindered their full benefit.
