Chinese consulate attack martyrs honoured

A special ceremony was held at the Central Police Office Karachi to pay tribute to the martyrs of the November 23, 2018, terrorist attack on the Chinese Consulate.

Sindh Home Minister Zia Ul Hassan Lanjar was the chief guest at the ceremony, which was attended by the families of the martyred police officers, ASI Ashraf Dawood and Constable Ameer, as well as Chinese Consul General Yang Yungdong, IGP Sindh Ghulam Nabi Memon, Additional IG Karachi Javed Akhtar Odho, and other senior police officers.

He commended the timely response of Suhai Aziz Talpur on that day. Then SSP of the South district, Suhai had led the operation against the separatist terrorists who had targeted the Chinese consulate in the Clifton area of the city.

Lanjar said that today, we are gathered to pay tribute to the bravery and valour of the police officers and Jawans who have made the ultimate sacrifice to protect the lives and property of the people. He expressed gratitude to the Chinese government for remembering the sacrifices of the martyred police officers and said that the Sindh Police is proud of its martyrs. He emphasized that the war against the criminals cannot be won without the support of the people.

IGP Sindh Ghulam Nabi Memon said that the sacrifices of the martyred police officers are an asset for the department and their actions are a guiding light for us.

Chinese Consul General Yang Yungdong said that the security measures taken by the Sindh Police are satisfactory, and the Chinese government is grateful for the support and cooperation extended by the Sindh police.
