President Joe Biden announced he is ending his campaign less than four months before the election, making him the first sitting US President in over 50 years not to pursue a second full term.

In his statement, he endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris as the next President, causing a flurry of online activity. Many users on social media are claiming that 'The Simpsons' predicted Kamala's presidential run and potential victory. The internet is buzzing with the uncanny parallels between the show and actual events.

In the episode "Bart to the Future," which aired in March 2000, Lisa Simpson becomes President of the United States while Bart is a White House freeloader.

This episode went viral almost four years ago when Kamala Harris was sworn in as the first female Vice President of the United States. People noticed the striking resemblance between Harris’s outfit and that of Lisa Simpson in the episode, with some media outlets speculating that Harris may have been inspired by the cartoon character’s attire.

Yeardley Smith, who has voiced Lisa since the show's debut in 1989, even tweeted, “I really wanna believe Kamala Harris chose her wardrobe yesterday as a subtle nod to Lisa Simpson.”rate prediction.

Despite airing two decades ago, "Bart to the Future" is just one of many prophetic episodes that have earned "The Simpsons" a reputation for accurate predictions.

Twitter users were quick to highlight the similarities, exclaiming, “The Simpsons are back at it again!" Sharing a photo of Harris in a purple blazer and pearl necklace, resembling Lisa’s outfit, another user remarked, “Simpsons predictions always accurate.”

Others on social media commented, “Whoever the writers were for the Simpsons needs to be studied at Harvard” and “I’m now convinced that the people who wrote the scripts for each episode of the Simpsons are time travellers.”

Although it’s uncertain if Harris will achieve presidential success like Lisa Simpson, she has received Biden’s endorsement. Expressing gratitude, Harris stated, "On behalf of the American people, I thank Joe Biden for his extraordinary leadership as President of the United States and for his decades of service to our country."

"I am honoured to have the President’s endorsement, and my intention is to earn and win this nomination," she added.

This isn’t the first instance of 'The Simpsons' appearing to foresee significant world events. In response to the increasing fascination with the show's uncanny predictions, writer Al Jean attributed it to mere 'luck.' He commented, "If you write 700 episodes and you don't predict anything, then you’re pretty bad. If you throw enough darts, you’re going to get some bullseyes.”
