Karl Urban, who portrays Billy Butcher in the popular superhero TV show "The Boys," has revealed the release window for the show's fifth and final season. According to Urban, fans will have to wait until 2026 for the new season to arrive. This announcement was made through a social media post where Urban shared images of himself and Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who played Joe Kessler in the series. Season 4 of "The Boys" concluded with the team being captured by Vought soldiers and Homelander becoming the leader of a Supe army following the declaration of martial law. Meanwhile, Butcher is venturing into unknown territories with the superhero virus. The production of the final season is scheduled to begin in November 2024, with filming expected to wrap up sometime in 2025. Given the significant events anticipated in the final episodes, the extended production timeline is necessary to ensure a fitting conclusion to the series.

The franchise is also expanding into multiple spinoffs, which may influence the final season's storyline. "Gen V" season 2 will explore the aftermath of Godolkin's virus, a key plot element from "The Boys" season 4.
