Police officer martyred in Peshawar terrorist attack

Funeral prayer held with full state honours at Police Lines in provincial capital

A police officer Constable Saeedullah was martyred on Sunday in a terrorist attack at the Armod checkpoint on the outskirts of Peshawar.

According to the police, the attackers used a sniper rifle for the assault, and the terrorists fled following retaliatory gunfire late at night.

The funeral prayers for the martyred were held with full state honours at the Police Lines in Peshawar with the ceremonial police squad paying respects to the deceased.

The funeral was attended by CCPO Qasim Ali, SSPs, and other police officials.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Governor Faisal Karim Kundi condemned the terrorist attack and expressed condolences over the police officer's martyrdom. The Governor prayed for the elevation of the martyr’s status and for patience for his family.

Kundi further stated that martyrs who sacrifice their lives in the fight against terrorism are a source of pride for the nation and the country.
