Electronics factory gutted in fire

KARACHI:

A fire broke out in an electronics equipment manufacturing factory in Korangi Industrial Area, which was extinguished after three hours of continuous efforts by the fire brigade.

The fire quickly spread to the warehouse, engulfing entire premises and stored goods. Fire department of the KMC rushed three fire tenders to the scene. Later, due to the intensity of fire, three more fire engines and two bowsers were called in to join the firefighting operation. The fire was finally extinguished and cooling process was started.

According to fire brigade officials, the factory which had a large quantity of electronics equipment experienced an explosion of the compressor, which caused the fire. The officials noted that the factory management lacked any equipment to extinguish the flames, leading to significant damage to the building.
