'Amazing' and 'Thoughtful' German Fans Following Epic Eras Tour

Pop sensation Taylor Swift expressed her heartfelt appreciation to her fans in Germany following a series of electrifying performances in Gelsenkirchen as part of her ongoing Eras Tour. 

The 34-year-old singer took to Instagram on July 20 to convey her gratitude for the warm reception and unique displays of support from the crowd during her shows.

Swift, known for hits such as "Fortnight" and "Betty," shared her delight with fans through a post accompanied by a carousel of photos capturing memorable moments from the concerts at Veltins Arena. She highlighted the fans' creativity, noting signs, paper hearts, and DIY 'willow' orbs made from balloons and phone flashlights that adorned the venue.

"I am completely blown away by what you’ve done," Swift wrote, acknowledging the overwhelming success of her latest album, The Tortured Poets Department, which dominated the charts for 12 consecutive weeks since its release. "You’re just the greatest," she added, expressing her admiration for her dedicated fanbase.

 

The singer also expressed anticipation for her upcoming performances in Hamburg and Munich, as part of her tour across Europe, which will be followed by shows in Poland. Swift's concerts in Germany were particularly special as they marked her debut in Gelsenkirchen, a city that welcomed her with unprecedented enthusiasm.

Amid the tour, local fan Aleshanee Westhoff initiated a petition urging Mayor Karin Welge to temporarily rename Gelsenkirchen to "Swiftkirchen" in honor of Swift's visit. The city responded by unveiling a new town entrance sign featuring Swift's image alongside the name "Swiftkirchen," a gesture that underscored the community's excitement and support.

Swift's concerts also saw the surprise appearance of her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, who attended two of the shows before continuing to his commitments with the Kansas City Chiefs. Kelce's presence added an additional layer of excitement to the already vibrant atmosphere of Swift's performances.
