President Joe Biden will be taking a break from the campaign trail to attend a exclusive fundraiser on Martha's Vineyard with First Lady Dr. Jill Biden, comedian David Letterman, and Hawai'i Governor Josh Green. The event, hosted by Winning Strategies CEO and President's Advisory Committee on the Arts member Robin Leeds, will take place on July 29 at a private residence.
The fundraiser, which will feature Letterman as a special guest, is expected to draw in high-profile donors and lawmakers. The event's hosts include attorney Kenneth Feinberg, who served as Special Master of the federal government's September 11th Victim Compensation Fund and the Special Master for TARP Executive Compensation.
Letterman, a longtime supporter of Joe Biden and critic of Donald Trump, has been a frequent guest on the campaign trail. In 2021, he even poked fun at Trump during the Kennedy Center Honors, saying it was "nice" to see the presidential box occupied again.
The fundraiser comes as calls escalate among lawmakers and donors for Biden to step aside in the 2024 presidential election. However, it seems the president is planning to ignore the noise and focus on his campaign efforts.
