Megan Thee Stallion is using her platform to help her hometown recover from the devastation of Hurricane Beryl. Her Pete and Thomas Foundation is teaming up with Bread of Life Inc. to launch an Emergency Power Program aimed at providing generators to senior citizens in Houston who have been left without electricity due to the storm's impact.

This initiative comes after the hurricane caused widespread power outages and heat-relateddeaths in the area. Thousands of residents, particularly the elderly, are still struggling without power more than a week after the storm passed.

"It’s been painful to watch the elderly population in Houston suffer without electricity during these devastating storms," Megan said in a press release. "We need to do our part to provide our elders with the best resources possible to withstand future emergencies."

Bread of Life, a Houston-based nonprofit, will work alongside the foundation to identify and assist the most vulnerable seniors in the community. They aim to provide generators to personal care homes before future storms hit, ensuring uninterrupted service for the elderly during power outages.

Megan Thee Stallion's Pete and Thomas Foundation, founded in 2022 in honor of her parents, has a track record of supporting women, children, seniors, and other underserved groups. The foundation has assisted over 14,000 people in the past two years through various initiatives, including holiday give-back events, housing assistance, scholarship programs, and volunteer opportunities.
