ISLAMABAD:

The Pakistan Bar Council has supported the appointment of ad hoc judges in the Supreme Court.

Besides, the council has also made a recommendation for setting up a constitutional court to hear political and constitutional cases.

According to a statement issued by the PBC, the govt should establish the constitutional court by amending the Constitution as the move will reduce the burden of political and constitutional cases from the SC.

The PBC communiqué stated that the council had suggested to Supreme Court Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa to appoint ad hoc judges as the CJP convened the meeting of the SJC on bar’s recommendation.
