Amazon has altered the title and added a trigger warning to "The Boys" Season 4 finale following the recent attempt on Donald Trump's life. The episode, initially titled "Assassination Run," is now simply "Season Four Finale." Amazon Prime Video issued a statement at midnight on July 18, emphasizing that any similarities between the show's storyline and real events in Pennsylvania are purely coincidental.

"The season finale of The Boys contains scenes of fictional political violence, which some viewers may find disturbing, especially in light of the injuries and tragic loss of life sustained during the assassination attempt on former President Trump," Amazon stated. "The Boys is a fictitious series that was filmed in 2023, and any scene or plotline similarities to these real-world events are coincidental and unintentional. Amazon, Sony Pictures Television, and the producers of The Boys reject, in the strongest terms, real-world violence of any kind."

The statement underscores that the show, based on the graphic novel by Eric Kripke, is entirely fictional and was produced before the attack on Trump. The former U.S. president was reportedly injured by a bullet that pierced his ear during the incident.

Amazon has also included a "viewer discretion advised" warning at the beginning of the episode to alert viewers to the sensitive content. "The Boys," one of Amazon's most successful series, continues to mirror political events that resonate with current real-life issues.

This precautionary measure by Amazon aims to address viewer concerns and clarify the unintentional timing and content parallels between the show and actual events.
