Don't anticipate a quick wedding for new couple Huma Abedin and Alex Soros, as sources confirm that Abedin is still not divorced from disgraced politician Anthony Weiner.

The former aide to Hillary Clinton, 47, and the son of billionaire Democratic donor George Soros, 38, announced their engagement last week.

Soros proposed in May in NYC with a stunning diamond rumored to be worth around a million dollars, and the couple later celebrated their engagement in Italy.

The brunette filed for divorce from Weiner in May 2017, nine months after he became involved in a sexting scandal that followed years of similar misconduct.

The former Democratic congressman from New York was sentenced to 21 months in prison for sexting.

Back in November 2021, Abedin revealed the divorce was nearly finalized. “We are in the final stages of our divorce,” she told the Cut. “Lawyers are doing their lawyer thing.”

Sources told Page Six that the delay is purely "clerical," and the former couple is currently finalizing the paperwork.

Meanwhile, friends say Abedin and Soros are eager to expand their family and welcome a baby.

“Huma and Alex are so in love,” one insider told Page Six this week. “I know they are excited to start their life together, and they definitely want kids.”

Abedin already has a 12-year-old son, Jordan, with her ex-husband and has called him “the best thing I ever did.”

Abedin and Weiner have been living in the same building in downtown NYC to co-parent their son, with no issues over custody or money, a source confirmed. Weiner, 59, said he is “thrilled” for his ex and Soros.

Abedin and Weiner got married in July 2010 in the garden at Oheka Castle in Huntington, Long Island. The ceremony was officiated by former President Bill Clinton.
