During an interview on the July 15 episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Portman, aged 43, discussed meeting the "Umbrella" hitmaker, aged 36, at Paris Fashion Week in January.

Portman had finalized her divorce from her husband Benjamin Millepied, aged 47, in February.

In a heartwarming moment captured by Bustle on Instagram, Rihanna referred to Portman as "one of the hottest bitches in Hollywood."

During her chat with Fallon on Monday, the star of "May December" emphasized, "I think every woman going through a divorce should get to have Rihanna say to her that she's a bad bitch."

Fallon then stood up and enthusiastically applauded Portman before airing a clip of their encounter at the fashion week.

"It was exactly what I needed," Portman continued.

"That's a big deal," Fallon remarked, to which the Black Swan actress responded, "It was a formative moment in my life."

Earlier this year, in a video shared from outside the Dior Haute Couture show in Paris, Portman expressed her admiration to Rihanna, saying, “I love you,” to which the singer replied, “I am a f---ing fan.”

Portman exclaimed, "I’m gonna faint. I’m gonna black out,” as they continued to compliment each other.

The Oscar winner went on to say, “I love you and I listen to your music all the time… you’re just such a queen. Thank you.”

Portman posted a photo on Instagram of their embrace, writing, "Still not over this…@badgalriri," alongside the image.

Portman filed for divorce from Benjamin Millepied last July, following their marriage in 2012, and the divorce was finalized in February in France. They had been living there with their children: their 13-year-old son Aleph and 7-year-old daughter Amalia.
