Christina Hall and her husband, Josh Hall, had been facing marital challenges for an extended period before Josh initiated divorce proceedings earlier this week, a source exclusively told PEOPLE.
According to the insider, the couple "had issues in the marriage for quite some time" before Josh, 43, officially filed for divorce citing "irreconcilable differences," as per legal documents obtained on July 16.
Christina, also known for her roles on HGTV shows like Christina on the Coast and Christina in the Country, is reportedly preparing to file as well, confirmed by a separate source close to her.
The couple, who initially wed in a private courthouse ceremony in 2021 and later celebrated with a Hawaiian ceremony in 2022, have publicly acknowledged their relationship milestones.
In a July 2021 Instagram post, Christina referred to Josh as her "ride or die." Later, in a now-deleted tribute on Josh's 43rd birthday in September 2023, she expressed gratitude for his role in her life and as a stepfather to her children.
Christina Hall was previously married to Tarek El Moussa, with whom she shares two children, and later to Ant Anstead, with whom she has a son.
Their upcoming series, The Flip Off, slated for 2025, is set to feature Christina and Josh competing against Tarek and his current wife, Heather El Moussa.
This marks Christina and Tarek's return to working together since the conclusion of their long-running show, Flip or Flop, in 2022.
HGTV has yet to comment on how Christina and Josh's divorce might impact the production of The Flip Off.
