ISLAMABAD:

PTI activist Sanam Javed has been reunited with her family following her release from prison. A heartwarming photo has emerged, showing her smiling with her husband and two children after a prolonged period of separation.

Sanam was initially arrested on May 9, 2023, and spent an extensive period in various jails across the country. Her release was ordered by the Islamabad High Court, and she is now staying with her family at the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa House in Islamabad.

The IHC had intervened to stop Sanam from being taken out of Islamabad. Following her release from Gujranwala Jail, she was arrested by Islamabad police and handed over to Balochistan police, who intended to take her to Quetta.

However, IHC directed the Islamabad police chief on Sunday to ensure that Sanam was not arrested until the next hearing by July 18 and also ensure that she was not taken outside the federal capital.

The order further directed Sanam's safety and allowed her to stay with her family. However, the court has warned that if she speaks a single word during this period, the court will revoke its order.
