Cartoon Network creator Kyle Carrozza arrested for child pornography possession

Kyle Adam Carrozza, the creator of the Cartoon Network series Mighty Magiswords, was arrested in Burbank, California, on June 20, 2024, on two counts of child pornography possession. The arrest was part of an investigation by the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force.

Carrozza's Mighty Magiswords originally debuted as a micro-series on Cartoon Network's CN Anything app in 2015, before being adapted into a linear television series that ran for two seasons. He has also worked on various other animated projects, including The Fairly OddParents, Animaniacs, and Spongebob Squarepants.

The charges against Carrozza include possession of child pornography and an enhanced charge for possessing a significant amount of illicit material. These offenses can be prosecuted as either misdemeanors or felonies, carrying potential sentences ranging from one year in county jail to five years in state prison. If convicted, Carrozza will also be required to register as a sex offender.
