Colombian pop star Shakira delivered a show-stopping performance at the Copa America 2024 final. The singer, who is the ex-partner of Barcelona legend Gerard Pique, took front stage as his former teammate Lionel Messi secured the trophy at the Euro finals at Hard Rock Stadium.'

During her performance, Shakira included the track "Puntería," featuring Cardi B, which is the official song for TelevisaUnivision’s broadcast of this year’s Copa America.

Following the announcement of her performance, fans took to X (formerly Twitter) to humorously comment on Pique, suggesting he had "lost out" on his superstar ex.

"I guess Pique won’t be there,” one user joked.

As per to Argentine journalist Juan Etchegoyen, Conmebol paid the Colombian artist an exorbitant sum to have her perform at halftime of the Copa America 2024 final.

"The money that Conmebol will invest in the final is bestial. We know that soccer generates that kind of money and it will end up coming back to you with what they will invoice, but it never ceases to surprise me," he said on Mitre Live.

Etchegoyen specified that Shakira will earn $2 million for a performance lasting just over five minutes, during which she will sing a medley of her greatest hits.
