In a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, Shehbaz described the incident as a "shocking development" and extended his wishes for Trump's swift recovery and good health.

“Just learnt that former President Trump was shot at an election rally. This is a shocking development,” Shehbaz wrote. “I condemn all violence in politics. Wish the former President swift recovery and good health.”

He said that there is no place for violence in politics, expressing his best wishes for Trump's speedy recovery.

The incident occurred while Trump was addressing supporters at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.

CNN reported that Trump was injured, but gave no other details. It was not clear how or what injuries he may have sustained. Video showed him with blood on his right ear and the right side of his face. However, the attacker was killed by security personnel. The Secret Service immediately took Trump into custody and evacuated him from the scene, leading to the cancellation of the rally.

President Joe Biden also condemned the attack, stating, "There’s no place for this kind of violence in America. We must unite as one nation to condemn it."
