PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar has lauded the decision by an Isamabad district court to overturn Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi's conviction in the Iddat case, saying that 'justice has been served.'
Islamabad's District and Sessions Court led by Judge Muhammad Afzal Majoka initially reserved the decision in the iddat case. The court later announced its decision acquitting the PTI supremo and his spouse while accepting their appeal against their February 3 conviction.
Lauding the judiciary strength, Gohar highlighted that Imran Khan consistently advocated for the rule of law and constitutional supremacy.
The PTI chairman claimed that the case against Imran Khan was a form of pressure intended to compromise him.
He reported meeting Imran Khan at Adiala Jail, where he found the former premier in high spirits, pleased with the court's decision.
Gohar asserted that the victory was not just personal for Imran Khan but for the entire nation, proclaiming it as "the nation's victory."
Reflecting on the case, Gohar criticised its foundation and declared it baseless, further adding that Imran Khan had two cases pending, but he looked forward to his release, expressing confidence that the PTI founder would be released and welcomed by the nation.
