President Zardari calls for collaborative efforts for sustainable development

President Asif Ali Zardari has emphasised the need for collaborative efforts to ensure sustainable development and common prosperity through China’s Global Development Initiative (GDI).

Virtually addressing the 2nd High-level Meeting of the Forum on Global Action for Shared Development, organised by the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA) in Beijing, President Zardari highlighted the initiative's potential in shaping the future of global development.

During his address, the president underscored the importance of viewing global challenges such as progress, development, and health from an Eastern perspective.

He pointed out that a significant portion of the world’s population resides in the Eastern hemisphere, particularly in countries like China, Pakistan, and their neighboring nations.

President Zardari also lauded the GDI for its potential to foster shared development and urged developing countries to take a leading role in the global development process.

He stressed that initiatives like GDI could pave the way for a more equitable and prosperous world by promoting collaborative efforts among nations.
