Marvel Studios has unveiled the first trailer for "Captain America: Brave New World," the highly anticipated fourth installment in the Captain America series. This film marks Anthony Mackie's debut as the lead, taking over the iconic role of Captain America from Chris Evans' Steve Rogers.

Anthony Mackie, who previously played Sam Wilson, also known as the Falcon, steps into the role of Captain America, inheriting the mantle from Steve Rogers. Steve, after bidding farewell to his superhero colleagues in 2019's "Avengers: Endgame," passed on his vibranium shield to Sam, entrusting him with the legacy of Captain America.

In the new trailer, Mackie's Captain America is introduced to Harrison Ford’s U.S. President Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross. Ross aims to recruit Cap as a U.S. agent, setting the stage for a high-stakes narrative. The trailer quickly escalates, showcasing Captain America thwarting an assassination attempt at the White House. It concludes with a glimpse of Red Hulk, a formidable gamma-irradiated adversary, who in the Marvel comics is the alter-ego of "Thunderbolt" Ross. Whether the film will adhere strictly to the comic storyline remains to be seen.

Marvel fans first saw Sam Wilson don the Captain America suit in the Disney+ series "The Falcon and the Winter Soldier," where he partnered with Sebastian Stan’s Bucky Barnes, the Winter Soldier, to combat a terrorist group. The series garnered widespread acclaim and received five Emmy nominations.

"Captain America: Brave New World" marks Anthony Mackie's return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The cast includes familiar faces from "The Falcon and the Winter Soldier" such as Danny Ramirez, reprising his role as the new Falcon, and Carl Lumbly as Isaiah Bradley. The film also introduces Shira Haas as the Israeli superhero Sabra and Giancarlo Esposito as a mysterious villain. Harrison Ford joins the MCU, taking over the role of "Thunderbolt" Ross from the late William Hurt. Additionally, the film brings back Liv Tyler as Betty Ross and Tim Blake Nelson as the Leader, both from "The Incredible Hulk."

Directed by Julius Onah and penned by Malcolm Spellman, Dalan Musson, and Matthew Orton, "Captain America: Brave New World" is set to hit theaters on February 12, 2025. Fans eagerly await to see how Sam Wilson will navigate his new role and face the challenges ahead as the new Captain America.
