ISLAMBAD:

The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has demanded that the Government of Pakistan withdraw the recent increase in taxes on tickets for international air travel.

Expressing concern over the series of tax hikes on tickets for international air travel, IATA has formally requested the government to immediately withdraw the tax increase.

In a letter seen by The Express Tribune—IATA has noted that in the recent budget in Pakistan, the tax on tickets for international air travel was abruptly increased by up to 150%, adversely affecting air travel and tourism in Pakistan.
