Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sardar Ali Amin Khan Gandapur has decided to establish a Quran Mahal in the provincial capital Peshawar in order to preserve the old copies and pages of the holy Quran and directed the Peshawar Development Authority to provide a suitable plot for this purpose.
He further directed that the proposed Quran Mahal should be a masterpiece of Islamic architecture, adding that the copies, pages of the Quran from across the province would be preserved in the above mentioned Quran Mahal.
He was chairing the first meeting of the Auqaf Department, held here at Chief Minister House on Friday. Provincial Minister for Auqaf, Adnan Qadri, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Amjad Ali Khan, Secretary Auqaf and other relevant officials attended the meeting.
The Chief Minister on this occasion was briefed about the administrative and financial matters of the department, lease policy of the Aquaf’s properties and other important matters.
The Chief Minister Sardar Ali Amin Khan Gandapur has decided to hold Rehmatul-lil-Alameen conferences this year in a grand and impressive manner across the province at official level.
He directed the quarters concerned to make arrangements for holding these conferences at provincial as well as divisional and district headquarters level throughout the province.
He announced that Rs5 million would be provided for holding Rahamtul lil Alameen Conference events at the provincial level, whereas Rs2 million would be provided to each provincial headquarter for this purpose.
Similarly, district headquarters would also be provided with Rs1 million each to hold such conferences, events.
The Chief Minister further decided that Ulema-o-Mashaikh Conference would also be held in the province. He on this occasion, directed the authorities concerned to identify suitable land for government graveyard so as to meet the requirements of Peshawar City in this regard.
The meeting has also decided the establishment of Assets Management Unit and GIS mapping of the Auqaf properties across the province.
Similarly, it was decided to hire a reputable law firm for better follow-up of the cases pending in various courts related to the waqf properties of the Auqaf Department.
On Thursday, Chief Minister chaired an important meeting of the Local Governments Department, which deliberated upon various reform initiatives and made important decisions to this effect.
As an important development towards increasing the revenue collection of the provincial government by utilizing Local Governments properties in a more efficient and judicious manner, the meeting has finalized the draft of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Local Governments (Property Lease) Rules, 2024.
It was informed that the property lease period for large-scale investment, has been proposed to extend up to 90 years.
According to the details, initial lease period for investment larger than Rs500 million, shall be determined 66 years extendable to the period of further 33 years. Similarly, initial lease period for investment up to Rs500 million, shall be determined 33 years extendable to the period of further 33 years. Investment plan up to Rs200 million would have an initial lease period of 33 years, which would also be extendable to further 15 years.
