President Joe Biden made an error during a NATO event on Thursday when he mistakenly called Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky "President Putin."

This incident is part of a series of gaffes from the president, leading to concerns about his mental sharpness and calls for his withdrawal from the presidential race.

Biden mistakenly referred to Zelensky as "President Putin," conflating him with Russian President Vladimir Putin, who initiated the conflict with Ukraine in 2022.

Biden promptly corrected his mistake, and Zelensky responded humorously, stating, “I’m better [than Putin].”

After correcting himself, Biden praised Zelensky, saying, “You are a hell of a lot better,” attributing his slip to being overly focused on countering Putin.

The timing of Biden's verbal mistake poses significant challenges for the president, as an increasing number of Democrats are urging him to reconsider his reelection bid amid rising concerns about his mental sharpness and ability to defeat former President Donald Trump.
