Common and Pete Rock initially collaborated in 1996 on Common's diss track aimed at Ice Cube.

Now, 28 years later, the hip-hop legends are releasing a full album together titled "The Auditorium, Vol. 1." The Chicago rapper-actor and the New York producer-rapper spoke with AP entertainment editor Ryan Pearson about their past work on "The ***** In Yoo," their focus on art over profit in their careers, and their reunion, emphasizing that "iron sharpens iron."
