Pakistan's star fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi has sparked speculation with a cryptic social media post amidst reports of a heated altercation with team coaches during the team's recent tour of Ireland and England ahead of the T20 World Cup 2024.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Afridi shared a video of himself bowling in the nets with the caption "Rise Above" accompanied by an eagle emoji.

The video, which also features former Pakistan captain Misbahul Haq batting, comes amid reports suggesting Afridi's involvement in a heated argument with batting coach Mohammad Yousuf during a practice session at Headingley.

Sources indicate that the argument arose over Afridi's repeated no-balls during practice, with tensions escalating into a verbal exchange between the two.

Following the incident, Afridi reportedly apologised to Mohammad Yousuf, and both the player and team management addressed the matter internally, terming it a momentary lapse in judgement.

In related developments, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has made changes in its senior team management and selection committee following Pakistan's early exit from the T20 World Cup 2024.

Former pacer Wahab Riaz has been removed from the position of senior team manager and as a member of the selection committee, alongside former all-rounder Abdul Razzaq.
