Thought-provoking artworks represent environmental harm to Earth

ISLAMABAD:

An art exhibition on the theme of mother nature and humanity’s relationship with the Earth, titled ‘Be a Catalyst; Reimagining Connection with Gaia - Chapter 2’ by OffGrid Studios recently culminated at the Pakistan National Council of the Arts’ Gallery 6 in Islamabad.

The compelling exhibition invited visitors to explore diverse perspectives on humanity’s relationship with the Earth, viewed through the lens of Gaia (Mother Earth), the living entity. The exhibition was opened by Coordinator to the Prime Minister on Climate Control and Environmental Coordination, Romina Khurshid Alam.

The Visual Arts Division Director, Mariam Ahmed, explained that the exhibition featured a thought-provoking array of artworks delving into environmental themes, each piece offering a unique viewpoint on pressing ecological issues. The 15 participating artists had brought forth their creativity to spark meaningful conversations about the current state of our planet and potential pathways for positive change. She noted that the PNCA, as a thriving centre, for creativity and innovation in the country, was continually pushing the boundaries of artistic expression and collaboration.

Feedback from visitors and artists alike praised the exhibition's curation, venue, and overall experience. OffGrid thanked all its collaborators especially PNCA for providing the gallery space for the display of the artworks.

The curator of the show, Geytee Ara also thanked the participants, and team of the PNCA Visual Arts Division for their invaluable support. The exhibition's success demonstrates the power of art in bringing people together and inspiring meaningful conversation.

The exhibition successfully concluded on 10th July 2024 after a thrilling week of showcasing exceptional artwork. The event brought together art enthusiasts, collectors, and the community to appreciate the talents of the participating artists. A great number of visitors attended the exhibition, exceeding expectation.
