'My father left us and never returned’: Kanwal Aftab opens up about childhood trauma

TikTok star with husband Zulqarnain revealed in a vlog that her parents divorced when she was in third grade.

Pakistan's TikTok star Kanwal Aftab revealed a deeply personal story about her father in a recent vlog, surprising and moving her fans.

The TikToker along with her husband, fellow TikToker Zulqarnain Sikandar, answered fan questions on their YouTube channel, including one about her father's absence.

"I usually don't talk about my father because it makes me emotional," she explained that discussing family matters is sensitive, especially when it involves past trauma.

She shared that her parents divorced when she was in the third grade. "My father left us at my grandmother's house and never returned," she said. After the separation, he did not even pay her school fees, resulting in her expulsion from school.

Despite the family rift, Kanwal mentioned that her mother and maternal uncles never stopped her from meeting her father. She continues to meet him, although he prefers to stay away from social media, which is why he has never appeared in her videos.

Kanwal Aftab married fellow TikToker Zulqarnain Sikandar in 2021, and they welcomed their daughter last year.
