RAWALPINDI:

Following a thorough investigation into a blind double murder case in the Chak Daulat area of Rawalpindi’s Mandra police station, the police claimed to have arrested the prime suspect. The victims, 65-year-old Mazhar Hussain and his 60-year-old wife, Ghousia Bibi, were tragically shot dead while sleeping in the courtyard of their house.

Nadia Mazhar, the couple’s daughter, initially reported the incident on July 5, attributing the killings to unknown assailants. She noted that her parents’ household included six siblings, with only one brother, Ramzan, absent at the time due to work commitments.

Nadia and Ramzan’s wife, Sobia Bibi, were present when gunfire was heard during the night, initially mistaken for a tyre burst.

The discovery of her parents’ bodies the next morning, each with gunshot wounds to the face, shocked the family.

The Rawalpindi CPO promptly intervened upon receiving the report, directing SP Nabeel Khokhar and a forensic team to gather evidence at the scene. Initially suspected to be an external attack, the investigation shifted focus upon further scrutiny.

Led by SSP Operation Hafiz Kamran Asghar, SSP Investigation Zunaira Azfar, and SP Nabeel Khokhar, the investigative team uncovered compelling evidence suggesting the murders were premeditated and carried out by a family member embroiled in property disputes and domestic strife.

The breakthrough led to the arrest of Irshad Hussain, the younger brother of the deceased Mazhar Hussain.

Irshad has been apprehended and will face legal proceedings as authorities continue their efforts to bring justice in this tragic case.
