PESHAWAR:

Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sardar Ali Amin Khan Gandapur has said that Imran Khan’s decision to participate in the all-party conference (APC) to be convened by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif about operation ‘Azm-e-Istikham’ is final, and PTI will attend the moot.

Talking to media during a court appearance in Rawalpindi, the K-P chief minister said the Apex Committee did not discuss the military operation, adding that it was essential to take the public, government and parliament into confidence if the operation was indispensible.

He said the federal government is neither following the Constitution nor is it respecting the judiciary.

“Imran Khan has been imprisoned in baseless cases and they are being dismissed one by one,” the K-P CM said.

If Imran Khan goes on a hunger strike, the entire nation would join him, said Gandapur, adding, there is no justice in the country at the moment, but a time will come for reward and punishment.

The K-P CM said, “We respect the judiciary because Imran Khan trained us to respect the Constitution and law,” adding, “I request the judiciary to take action against the contempt of court as the nation is looking towards the institution.”

In reply to a question, Gandapur said the false cases have been lodged against the PTI leaders, but genuine cases are pending against Nawaz Sharif and Zardari in the Cantonment Police Station.

Criticizing the federal government, the K-P CM said the government is standing with the support of crutches and its representatives are avoiding talking about Form 45. They are aware of the fact that a free and fair trial will expose the rigging in the general elections.

To a question, he said former K-P CM Pervez Khattak quit the party due to fear, and he betrayed the Pashtuns.

The K-P CM further said the Constitution is being repeatedly violated, while the Article 6 of the Constitution stipulates capital punishment for violating it. If someone thinks to go with impunity after violating the Constitution, “I warn that the violators of the Constitution would be hanged; therefore, they should refrain from violating the Constitution.”
