The federal government has rejected the demands of CNG owners and industrialists and has announced to continue gas loadshedding for the month of July.
CNG Stations and industries of Khyber Pakhtunkhawa and Punjab will face one day gas closure in a week even in the month of July. Formal notices have been issued to all sectors using gas about the continuity of the gas curtailment plan for the next month.
SNGPL officials claim the government allowed for gas loadshedding and there will be no of relief in the coming month due to overall gas shortage in the two provinces.
CNG owners said that this practice is unjustified.
400 textile and other factories of Faisalabad remain closed today due to the suspension of gas. Textile owners claimed that they are facing a loss of millions of rupees due to the gas curtailment plan of the government.
Gas loadshedding continues
Gas loadshedding continues for the eleventh consecutive week, affecting CNG stations and industrial units.
380 CNG stations of Faisalabad, Chiniot, Jhang and adjoining cities have shut down due to shortage of gas.
CNG owners say they were required to observe a weekly gas holiday for two months only but the energy conservation plan has apparently been extended, without any notice.
400 industrial units, including textile factories, have also closed down in the Faisalabad region, causing losses worth millions of rupees to the owners.
SNGPL officials claim gas loadshedding will continue for another month and formal notices have been issued in this regard.
