Deputy mayor says cleaning drains daily

Deputy Mayor Salman Abdullah Murad said that the efforts are being made to clean the city's drains ahead of the expected monsoon rains.

He emphasised that the cleaning of storm drains is ongoing daily and must continue to ensure rainwater can be effectively drained, even during the rainy season. The cleaning of both major and minor drains should be expedited, and staff should remain active throughout the rainy season to facilitate the transfer of rainwater to the main drains. All departments of the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) will be mobilised and operational during the monsoon season.
