Internet makes fun of Rishi Sunak's wife during resignation speech

Rishi Sunak resigned as Prime Minister, but his wife Akshata Murty drew attention with her umbrella and dress.

As Rishi Sunak delivered his resignation speech outside 10 Downing Street, all eyes were on his wife, Akshata Murty. 

Sunak announced his resignation as both Prime Minister and leader of the Conservative Party following Sir Keir Starmer and the Labour Party's landslide victory in the general election.

Standing behind Sunak, the super-rich Murty held an umbrella while wearing a navy and red striped dress, ensuring he stayed dry.

This contrasted sharply with a few weeks earlier when Sunak was drenched while calling the general election, prompting laughter during his speech.

Akshata Murty, an Indian heiress and venture capitalist, is the daughter of Infosys founder N. R. Narayana Murthy. She holds a 0.93% stake in Infosys and shares in several British businesses.
