Pakistani cricket star Babar Azam is set to take the top spot for most runs in T20 Internationals, with a strong likelihood of maintaining the position for an extended period. This comes after Indian cricket legends Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma announced their retirement from the format.
With the retirement of both Indian greats following their World Cup victory last month, Babar Azam is poised to ascend to the top of the runs list. Azam currently has 4,145 runs, trailing behind Virat Kohli's 4,188 and leader Rohit Sharma's 4,231 runs.
Following Babar Azam in fourth place is Ireland’s Paul Stirling with 3,601 runs, a significant gap to close as Stirling is also nearing his retirement. He is followed by New Zealand's Martin Guptill, who has already bid adieu to cricket.
Pakistan’s wicket-keeper batsman Mohammad Rizwan is next on the list with 3,313 runs.
