A horrific collision between a bus and a coaster at Adda Hussain Shah on Multan-Mianwali Road resulted in the deaths of four individuals and left 40 injured, with ten in critical condition.

The injured have been transferred to THQ Hospital, Chowk Sarwar Shaheed.

A bus traveling from Dera Ismail Khan to Multan collided head-on with a coaster travelling from Kabirwala to Layyah.

The accident occurred near Adda Hussain Shah, Chowk Sarwar Shaheed.

The collision was attributed to high speed, causing the coaster to be completely destroyed and injuring nearly 40 passengers.

Rescue teams and police arrived at the scene and transferred the injured to THQ Hospital, Chowk Sarwar Shaheed. However, there were significant shortages of facilities at the hospital.

Power outages worsened the situation for the injured amidst severe heat and humidity. Hundreds of local citizens rushed to the hospital and many critically injured individuals were moved to Nishtar Hospital, Multan, with the help of the public.

The deceased have been identified as Abdul Manan, Muhammad Akram, Jamshed, and Muhammad Abid, all residents of Kabirwala, District Khanewal.

The injured include Muawiya, Muhammad Rashid, Shahid, Salman, Muhammad Naveed, Mudassir, Waseem, Sajid, Muhammad Bilal, Zaman, Ali, Qadeer Ahmed, Muhammad Arslan, Shahid, Muhammad Akbar, Javed Iqbal, Muhammad Waseem, Khalil Ahmed, Muhammad Abdullah, Haider Ali, Talha, Abid, Waseem, Muhammad Ayaz, Muhammad Saad, Maqsood Ali, Muhammad Amin, Saqib Ali, Mohsin, Muhammad Abid, and others. The identification process for four deceased individuals is still ongoing.

The police have registered a case at the Sarwar Shaheed Police Station (FIR 379/24) under sections 322/337G, 427/279 of the Pakistan Penal Code and have initiated further investigation. The accident is primarily attributed to over-speeding.

Meanwhile, at least 15 people died, whereas 1,342 were injured in 1,238 Road Traffic Crashes (RTCs) across Punjab during the last 24 hours.

Out of these, 615 people with serious injuries were shifted to different hospitals, while 727 victims with minor injuries were treated at the incident site by Rescue Medical Teams.

The majority (73%) involved motorbikes.

Furthermore, the analysis showed those 746 drivers, 52 underage drivers, 136 pedestrians, and 475 passengers were among the victims of road traffic crashes.
