Five killed in Bhakkar road crash

A devastating collision between a passenger van and a truck on Jhang Road near Mankera resulted in the deaths of five people and injuries to eight others.

The accident occurred as a van, traveling from Piplan to Mankera for a funeral was hit by truck.

Among the deceased were Faqeer Hussain, 55, Zareena Bibi, 18, Razia Bibi, 70, and Muhammad Rafique, 51, all residents of Piplan.

The driver of the truck, Adnan Shafiq, 35, from Lucky Marwat, KPK, also perished in the crash.

Rescue teams, including Rescue 1122, swiftly responded to the scene, transporting the injured to District Headquarters Hospital (DHQ) Mankera.

The condition of four injured individuals is reported as critical.

Mankera Assistant Commissioner Muhammad Saleem Asi stated that the accident was caused by the Carry Dabba driver falling asleep at the wheel.

Emergency measures have been implemented at DHQ Mankera to ensure all necessary medical facilities are provided to the injured.
