In a dramatic turn of events at the CEO 2024 fighting game tournament, Mortal Kombat 1 pro RezDyloch managed to lose more money than he won after celebrating his victory by breaking a $3,000 lighting fixture. The incident occurred during the Winner's Final match against RewindNV, where Dyloch's overzealous celebration led to unexpected consequences.

As Dyloch secured his win over Rewind's Reiko with his character General Shao, he stood up in triumph and threw his chair outside the arena, inadvertently hitting and damaging an expensive light fixture. Despite going on to win the Grand Finals and being crowned the champion of the Mortal Kombat 1 tournament, Dyloch's victory was overshadowed by the cost of the damage he caused.

CEO founder Alex Jebailey quickly addressed the situation, confirming that the broken light cost nearly $3,000 and that Dyloch would be responsible for covering the expense. Jebailey issued a stern warning to all participants, stating that anyone caught throwing objects in the future would be banned from any event he organizes.

"If one more person pops off throwing anything, you will be banned from any event I ever do. This is a final warning to anyone in the future. Do not throw things," Jebailey emphasized in his statement.

The incident highlights the financial impact on Dyloch, who won approximately $565 as the grand prize for the tournament. To cover the cost of the damaged light, Dyloch will need to use his entire prize money and an additional $2,500 from his own pocket. Despite the setback, Dyloch took to social media to celebrate his win and expressed his commitment to being "responsible" for the damage.

This isn't the first time a fighting game competitor has faced backlash for such behavior. Notably, Hungrybox faced criticism earlier this year for breaking a chair on stage during a similar "pop-off" moment.
