Two criminals have been sentenced to death and three times life imprisonment in the Ganjmandi police station bomb blast case by verdict of Judge Malik Ijaz Asif of the Special Anti-Terrorism Court.
Together with the sentences awarded for crimes of attempted murder, wounding and ammunition recovery, they received a total of 23 years of imprisonment, fine of Rs500,000 as damages and a an additional fine of Rs450,000.
The criminals, Adil Khan and Nusrat Khan, were also present in the court room. The court declared in its decision that taking human lives through terrorism is a very heinous and serious crime. It was said that no concession could be given to anyone for such a crime, and it was ordered that the two criminals should be hanged on the gallows until both of them die. After the delivery of the verdict, both the criminals were transferred to Adiala Jail in an armoured police vehicle.
The case was registered by the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) on December 13, 2020. As per case records, a woman named Yasmeen was killed and five others were injured during the bombing incident.
Both criminals had initially fled but were later arrested by the CTD, who also recovered weapons and explosives from their possession.
