Princess Anne's recent accident has reportedly left her daughter Zara Tindall "shaken to the core."

The 73-year-old Princess Royal was taken to Southmead Hospital after being struck by a horse while walking at the Gloucestershire estate last week.

Princess Anne's husband, Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, praised the medical staff at Southmead Hospital for their care, confirming that she is "recovering slowly." Despite this, Zara, 43, remains deeply concerned about her mother. "This is exactly what Zara's been worried about happening for years now, but her mum hasn't had a chance to slow down with everyone else falling apart," a source told Woman's Day magazine.

The incident has served as a significant wake-up call for the family. "It's really shaken Zara to the core and she's desperately hoping this memory is temporary. This has been a huge wake-up call for everyone in the family and they're rightfully distressed," the source added.

Zara was seen visiting her mother in the hospital shortly after the news broke. Princess Anne is expected to rest at home and follow standard concussion protocols, returning to public duties once medically advised. The incident occurred before King Charles hosted the Emperor and Empress of Japan at Buckingham Palace as part of a three-day state visit.
