Fans of the Mario brothers can rejoice as the highly anticipated Mario & Luigi: Brothership is now available for preorders and is slated for release on November 7 for the Nintendo Switch. The game's surprise reveal during the latest Nintendo Direct event has generated significant excitement, especially considering the original developer, AlphaDream, filed for bankruptcy in 2019.

According to reports from The Verge and GameSpot, the announcement of Brothership follows the modernized versions of Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door and Super Mario RPG, marking Nintendo's revival of the beloved Mario & Luigi series with a fresh installment.

Brothership signifies not only the return of the Mario Bros. role-playing series but also its debut on a home console, though it remains fully playable on a portable device. In this new adventure, Mario and Luigi commandeer their own sailing ship to explore a new world filled with islands, all in a quest to return to the Mushroom Kingdom. The brothers must utilize their teamwork and unique powers to overcome various obstacles and defeat formidable bosses.

Mario & Luigi: Brothership is priced at $60 and is currently available for preorder at Best Buy, with more retailers such as Target expected to offer preorders soon. This marks the first entirely new entry in the series since Paper Jam in 2015, making it a nearly decade-long wait for fans eager for more turn-based, platforming action.

The game's reveal trailer showcases graphics that maintain the aesthetic and perspective of previous entries, featuring a turn-based combat system with Action Commands and new Bros. Attacks, along with an emphasis on platforming and puzzles outside of battles. For those familiar with Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door and Super Mario RPG, Brothership promises a similar combat experience set in the Mushroom Kingdom.

Mario & Luigi: Brothership is not the only Nintendo-published Switch game from the recent Nintendo Direct available for preorder; fans can also secure their copy of the highly antic
