Meghan Markle feels deeply hurt after her father, Thomas Markle, openly discussed his regret over never meeting his grandchildren, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, and shared more family issues with a UK newspaper.
Thomas Markle, who will turn 80 in July, talked about his growing older and his sadness over being estranged from Meghan, 42, and Prince Harry, 39. He compared his situation to that of King Charles, saying neither grandfather deserved "the treatment we've received" from the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
A source told OK! Magazine that Meghan feels "under attack." The source said, "It’s been a difficult week for Meghan, and she feels constantly under attack. The revelations about her and her father’s private conversations have been painful because she thought she had moved past that."
The source noted that Meghan and Thomas once had a "very close" relationship and that she is "devastated" they no longer speak. Before meeting Harry, Meghan had a strong relationship with her father, which has since deteriorated.
In his interview with the Daily Mail, Thomas Markle emphasised that he is not seeking sympathy after falling out with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex in 2018. The pair have had no contact in the past six years, and Thomas has never met his grandchildren or Prince Harry.
