Senator Faisal Vawda prostrated in the Supreme Court premises after the dismissal of the contempt of court case against him.

Today, the Supreme Court accepted the unconditional apologies of Senator Faisal Vawda and Mustafa Kamal.

The court withdrew the show-cause notices issued to them, emphasizing that future similar statements would not be excused with unconditional apologies.

Chief Justice of Pakistan, Qazi Faez Isa, during the hearing, remarked on the importance of mutual respect between the judiciary and Parliament. "While we respect Parliament, we expect at least some respect for the judiciary as an institution," CJ stated.

Expressing gratitude, Vawda highlighted his distress over being labeled a "proxy" by a judge, a comment that was widely publicized by Indian media.

CJ Isa noted that the subsequent issues arose from the initial remark and expressed his general disfavor towards contempt proceedings.

He explained that the notice was issued on the recommendation of a fellow judge and mentioned that despite receiving threats, he did not personally pursue any action.

During the session, the Attorney General reported that PTI leader Rauf Hasan had held a press conference criticizing the Chief Justice of Pakistan and the Chief Justice of the Islamabad High Court.

When asked about the contents, the Attorney General refrained from repeating the remarks due to the live broadcast of the proceedings.

CJ Isa reiterated his opposition to contempt actions and encouraged moving forward.

Following these discussions, the SC officially ended the contempt proceedings against both senators.
