Gypsy-Rose Blanchard, 32, has shared her emotional journey post-divorce from estranged husband Ryan Anderson in a revealing YouTube Q&A session.
In a video published on Thursday, June 27, Blanchard, known for her role in the tragic case involving Munchausen by proxy, expressed her contentment after parting ways with Anderson, 37.
Speaking frankly about her decision to file for divorce, Blanchard reflected on her pursuit of happiness. "Life is too dang short to be sad or feel trapped by anything in your life," Blanchard emphasized in her heartfelt video statement.
Blanchard's divorce announcement came on March 28, shortly after her release from prison earlier this year. Since then, she has been seen reconnecting with her ex-fiancé, Ken Urker, and took legal steps by filing a temporary restraining order against Anderson on April 11.
During the Q&A, Blanchard candidly responded to questions about her newfound independence and happiness. "When I divorced Ryan, and I followed my heart to true love, I felt like I made that choice as an independent woman," she shared, emphasizing the importance of personal fulfillment.
Blanchard's marriage to Anderson developed during her imprisonment at the Chillicothe Correctional Center in Missouri, where she served a 10-year sentence for her involvement in her mother's murder.
Their relationship blossomed after meeting in June 2021, culminating in a jailhouse wedding in July 2022. Following her parole in December 2023, Blanchard publicly announced their separation.
In a statement to PEOPLE, Blanchard previously described the emotional toll of the divorce, emphasizing her journey towards self-discovery and reclaiming her identity.
"In my marriage, I felt like a part of me was lost," she reflected, highlighting her current sense of liberation and fulfillment.
