Following a night of rainfall, the intense heat in Rawalpindi and Islamabad has finally subsided.
Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) reports that the pre-monsoon rains have commenced, with intermittent showers expected to continue in the northern regions of the country, including Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, and the upper areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Rainfall is anticipated to begin in cities across Punjab, including Rawalpindi, Islamabad, and Lahore, from July 1.
This rain spell is expected to persist intermittently from July 1 to July 2. Additionally, strong winds are likely to blow across these cities Friday (today) and tomorrow.
Yesterday, Karachi also experienced a break in its heatwave following gusty winds and rain, providing much-needed relief to the city's residents.
The PMD has now announced that Karachi is expected to experience moderate to light showers in the evening today.
