Young man killed in Karachi robbery attempt, death toll climbs to 80

Another youth shot dead in Karachi robbery, raising this year's death toll of street crimes to 80.

A young man was shot dead during a robbery attempt in Karachi's Gulistan-e-Johar area, raising the death toll from robbery resistance in the city to 80 this year.

The incident occurred when two assailants on a motorcycle opened fire on Nauman, 27, who was also riding a motorcycle.

Initial investigation by the police indicates that the shooting occurred during a robbery attempt. Police are continuing their investigation on the matter.

SP Gulshan Iqbal Aleem Baloch stated that Nauman was riding with a friend when the assailants tried to stop them. Upon their refusal to stop, the robbers opened fire.

Police officers on patrol nearby heard the gunshots and rushed to the scene, but the assailants managed to escape.

Nauman’s father revealed that he was an electrician and had recently passed a running test for police recruitment.

Police are currently investigating to uncover further details.
