John Force moved to neurological intensive care unit after fiery crash at NHRA event

John Force, a legendary NHRA driver, has been moved to the neurological intensive care unit after a fiery crash at the Virginia Nationals Funny Car eliminations on June 23. The 75-year-old driver was involved in a crash that saw his Chevrolet Camaro explode and crash into the guard wall, leaving him with a head injury.

According to a statement from John Force Racing, Force's medical team is focusing on his head injury, which is their primary concern. His family, including his wife Laurie and daughters Ashley, Brittany, Courtney, and Adria, have been by his side throughout his treatment.

Force was initially examined by the NHRA medical team at the track and then transported to a nearby medical center via medical helicopter. He remained in the intensive care unit (ICU) for several days before being moved to the neurological intensive care unit.

The NHRA community has rallied around Force, with Austin Prock, the winner of the Funny Car division, saying that the trophy from the event would be going straight to the hospital to Force. Prock also expressed his support for Force, saying that he would be back racing soon.

Force's daughter Brittany has removed herself from the Summit Racing Equipment National in Norwalk, Ohio, to stay by her father's side. Prock will compete again this weekend for the John Force Racing organization.
