CM wants real-time monitoring of projects

Orders release of Rs400m for ongoing schemes

Stressing timely completion of development schemes, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has directed the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) to create a dashboard for real-time monitoring of all projects.

Chairing a meeting of the Planning and Development Board to have a detailed review of each project of the Annual Development Programme 2024-25, she said the PC-I of all schemes should be submitted by July 15. ”It is our responsibility to complete all schemes on time,” she added.

The chief minister remarked, “If funds are spent on cars and offices, why not on hospitals?” She ordered the formation of a company for exporting meat, prawns, animals and garments.

She was informed that 106 development projects would be completed with the support and collaboration of foreign institutions.

The chief minister was informed that an ambulance service would be started at every motorway interchange in Punjab.

The chief minister ordered immediate release of Rs400 million for the ongoing development projects besides the remaining allocated funds based on utilisation. She also issued directives to release 25% of the Universal Health Insurance fund on a monthly basis.

Details of 83 projects of the District Development Committees and 431 of the Divisional Development Working Parties were presented in the meeting.

The chief minister reviewed progress on 282 projects of the Departmental Development Sub-Committee and 378 of the Provincial Development Working Party.

She had a detailed briefing on special schemes of the health department and directed the authorities concerned to take all possible measures to ensure early completion of the renovation and rehabilitation of health centres across Punjab.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz gave a deadline of August 13 to start the construction of the 189km Chichawatni-Layyah road and 93km Multan-Vehari road. Construction of the Sahiwal-Saharani and Bahawalnagar-Jhangra East Interchange roads will also be started by August 13.
