Actor Spencer Milligan, known for his role as Rick Marshall in the 1970s series 'Land of the Lost', has died at the age of 86.

Milligan's death was confirmed by an obituary on the Huehns Funeral Home website, although details surrounding his passing were not disclosed.

Born on September 10, 1937, in Oak Park, IL, Milligan began his career in local theater before transitioning to television.

His notable roles include appearances in Woody Allen's 1973 comedy and the 1974 films 'The Man from Clover Grove' and 'The Photographer', where he also served as an associate producer.

In 1974, Milligan took on the role of Rick Marshall in 'Land of the Lost', a popular Sid & Marty Krofft production that blended live-action with stop-motion animation.

The show followed the adventures of Rick and his children as they navigated a prehistoric world populated by dinosaurs, striving to find their way back home.

Milligan starred in the series for its first two seasons before his character's departure, which marked a significant turn in the show's storyline.

Despite its modest production, 'Land of the Lost' gained a dedicated fan base and later inspired revivals and adaptations in subsequent decades.

Following his stint on 'Land of the Lost', Milligan maintained a steady presence on television throughout the 1980s, making guest appearances on popular shows such as 'Gunsmoke', 'Baretta', and 'Quincy, M.E.'.

His versatility extended to TV movies, including roles in 'The Keegans' and 'Terror Among Us'.

Beyond acting, Milligan contributed to the arts community by teaching and directing stage productions in Sturgeon Bay, WI, where he resided with his wife, Kerry Milligan.

He is survived by his wife and several godchildren, with the family suggesting donations in his memory to the Entertainment Community Fund.
