Taylor Swift has reportedly been making donations at various stops in her U.K. Eras Tour for several weeks.
Rachel Biggs, CEO of Cardiff Foodbank, revealed to The Guardian in an interview published on Tuesday, June 25, that Swift made the largest individual donation the organization has ever received.
As per BBC, Cardiff, the capital of Wales, hosted the only single Eras Tour concert during Swift's 152-date European leg.
While Biggs did not disclose the exact donation amount, she mentioned that it was significantly helpful.
“The breathing space Taylor’s donation has given us will enable us to lift our heads and shift our focus from the food bank to the creation of a sustainable operation supporting people who currently need our help with support to address the root cause of poverty and financial support to set them on the path to not needing our aid any more,” Biggs told The Guardian.
Biggs stated that the Grammy winner's donation provides “1,200 people three meals a day, for three days – or 10,800 meals.”
Cardiff Foodbank expressed gratitude to Swift on Instagram with a photo of the singer's signature friendship bracelets inscribed with, "Thank you Taylor Love, Cardiff Food Bank." The caption mentioned that the donation was "beyond our Wildest Dreams," referencing a song from Swift's 1989 album.
The Guardian also interviewed Rich Jones, CEO of Liverpool's St. Andrew’s Community Network, which manages 11 food banks. Jones described Swift's donation as “the most incredible gift.”
